We Proudly Serve Pets in Albuquerque, NM, and Beyond

At Northview Animal Hospital, we receive numerous interesting questions from pet parents. Here are some FAQs that may address your questions or concerns. For any additional concerns about your pet, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at (505) 828-1136.

What types of appointments do you offer?

We see scheduled office and surgical appointments as well as walk-in emergencies. Please call our office for an appointment at (505) 828-1136.

How do you handle emergency/walk-in appointments?

We accept walk-in emergency appointments during our hours of operation and will do our best to care for your animal as soon as possible. Please keep in mind we are a busy hospital and wait times drastically vary (30 minutes to 5 hours) based on current appointment standing and doctor availability. However, we are happy to have a technician triage your animal as soon as you arrive. If possible, please call ahead and inform us of your situation.

Can I visit my hospitalized pet?

We know that having a pet hospitalized is a stressful situation for the patient and owner alike. We encourage visiting your hospitalized pet and can help you arrange appropriate visitation times.

Can I be billed for veterinary services?

No. All fees for services rendered are due at the time of discharge. Payment can be made by Mastercard, Visa, personal check, or cash. Estimates for veterinary services can be prepared following examination of your pet. Unfortunately, we do not work directly with pet insurance, but are happy to provide itemized receipts for you to file a claim with your provider.

How are after hours emergencies handled?
The Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center handles our after-hours emergencies.  They can be reached at (505) 884-3433.  Emergencies during our regular office hours will be handled by the staff of Northview Animal Hospital. If possible, please call when you are on your way.
Do you refer cases to specialists?

In surgical or medical cases that require a specialist, we work closely with the specialists at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center and occasionally other specialists in New Mexico and other states.
